Living Room

Suki's body quickly relaxed yet again as Amaretto stroked her hair. She lost her grip on his shirt and her shoulders slumped forward, putting a little bit more of her weight onto him. "She does seem to know a lot about anything when it comes to that. I'll have to ask her later then." She slowly rolled herself to look back up at him, smiling her little smile and her eyes a bright pink yet again. "Why am I so relaxed around you? I've only heard stories about you and known you for a little while and yet I feel like I've known you for years." The question had be bugging her, so she thought she'd speak it aloud.

Amaretoo looked down at her as he felt her relax. When she turned her gaze toward him he saw her pink eyes and for a moment was slightly stunned by how vibrant the color was. He searched his mind yet again for the meaning to the color but was stopped by her question. "I get that alot. But mostly the whole being relaxed around me thing. That's because I'm a big brother to two little sisters. As my mother would say I know how to treat a lady right. But I'm not sure why you feel like you've known me for years. Maybe it's my charming attitude?" He smiled and winked at her, knowing that the sarcasm on the last couple words would be finished of perfectly with the gestures.

Suki giggled gently at him from his silly comment. She shook her head and leaned back to lay against him, reaching her hand up to play with his spikey hair. "Well being a big brother has a lot of work and credit going into it. Especially with you of what I've heard. But I don't know... There are a few people I have meet that I feel like I've known them for years. You just happen to be one of them, darling." Her british accent was quite thick at the end of her sentence with the silly nickname. She blushed and laughed at it, not knowing why it still kept coming out.

His eyes slid closed in happiness when she began to play with his hair. He had always loved his hair being played with when he was younger and he could distinctly remember Absinthe calling him a head slut one time when she had been messing around with his hair. He placed a kiss on top of Suki's head and smiled when he heard her heavy accent on the word 'darling'. "Darling now am I?" He opened his eyes half way and gave her a somewhat sleepy smile. "You can call me anything you'd like, love. As long as it's nice." He let out a breathy chuckle and closed his eyes again.

Suki smiled back at Amaretto's sleepy smile, putting her hand on his cheek for a moment before letting it slip back down and onto her stomach. "I have quite a few nicknames for people. Yet I don't like having very many for myself, I like it better when I'm just called Sukiyomi or Suki." She laughed at her somewhat hypocrisy on the matter. She turned herself so she could sit back up, looking back to Amaretto. "I think you need to go to bed. I should get back home as well, I guess... Not like they're looking for me. She rolled her eyes, knowing exactly what her sister and her boyfriend would be up to right now.

Looking at her through still half lidded eyes Amaretto leaned into her hand as she placed it on his cheek before tracking it's movements back down to her stomach. "Then I will have to come up with a nickname for you. Just not right now. My brain isn't cooperating" He smirked at her and shifted the arm that was placed around her shoulders as she moved. His eyebrows furrowed together while listening to her saying that he need sleep and that her sister wasn't looking for her. Forcing his eyes to open fully he shifted his position so he was slouched a bit more and gently coaxed her back to his side with the arm that as still resting on her shoulders. "You don't need to leave. Especially if what you were saying about your sister and her boyfriend meant what I think it did. You are more than welcome to stay here for the night. But I won't make you stay if you want to leave. His eyes turned thoughtful and his gaze turned toward the ceiling before settling on Suki again. "I was actually going to ask if you would like to do something for New Years tomorrow.

Suki smiled to herself as she watched Amaretto's reactions and movements. She was slowly beginning to get him. She watched his sleepy self until he got wide eyed and brought her back over to him. She didn't protest, she quite liked it there in his arms. She laughed and nodded to him. "Yes, it means what you were thinking." She sighed and leaned on him, taking her hand and tracing it over his shirt patterns. "Why would I want to leave? Especially if my chooses are going back to lovebirds or staying here with you." She laughed at her options. "I think I'll take the latter" She looked up at him and purred out quietly in a wolfish way at his request. "I'd love to do something. I didn't even realize it was almost the new year, odd. Did you have anything in mind?" Her eyes quickly glanced towards Absinthe's room, remembering she'd be awake at one point in the day, then making her look to the front door, also realising that her sister would at one point look for her as well. She wasn't quite sure how everything would go on tomorrow.

Amaretto's eyes fell back to their half lidded state as Suki traced patterns on his shirt, unknowingly relaxing him even more. His eyes fell completely shut and when he heard Suki's purr he smirked. "If you're spending the night you can have my room. The bed is as comfy as it looks trust me. And I haven't the slightest idea what we're gonna do. We're just gonna hafta plan as we go." He forced his eyes back open so he could look down at her and give her yet another sleepy smile. He brought his free arm up so he could rub at his eyes with his hand, trying to put at least some life back into them, before letting it fall onto the back of the couch to rest behind his head.

Suki's eyes wandered back to Amaretto as she thought some things through. She looked up at him as he was starting fall asleep on her. "You haven't even slept in a proper bed in months and you're way more tired than I am, dear." She pulled herself up a bit and looked at him, leaning over to kiss his cheek gently and then slipping out of his arms. She stood in front of him and grabbed onto both of his hands, pulling them just slightly. "Come on, you need a nice bed to sleep on. Do you really want Absinthe waking you up at nine in the morning and you waking up on a couch in pain? I bet you've been sleeping on a couch for months, or maybe even worse places than that." She smiled slightly and pulled at his hands again.

Amaretto made to argue after her first comment but when she kissed his cheek his thoughts and arguments vanished so he simply chuckled and allowed her to guide him up off of the couch. "Sleeping on a couch isn't too bad. I was just trying to be a gentleman. Now you're stuck sleeping with me my dear. Don't worry, I don't cuddle much." He pointedly left out the answer to her underlying question of where he has been sleeping for the past few months and tried to dodge it with a joke. Letting go of one of her hands he started walking toward the hallway, and toward his room, gently pulling her along behind him.

Absinthe walked from the kitchen after grabbing herself a water bottle and throwing one to Suki as well. "I guess I'm not really making anything. Not much here to make." She laughed and walked into the living room and sat down on her chair, undoing the water bottle lid and taking a drink before putting it on the table. She looked around for the remote so she could turn the tv on, groaning when she couldn't find it. "Remotes hate me." She said before staring at the tv until it turned on and then change it to a show they could watch. Through out the day they could always put in a movie or play a game.

Suki laughed and took the water bottle she was handed and came into the living room as well, sitting on the couch next to Amaretto. This was better than most of her New Years of sitting home alone until Mio finally showed up after going out to parties all day that she refused to go to. She put her feet up onto the coffee table and leaned back, holding onto the the bottle.


When it finally came soon to be midnight they had all had a pretty good day. Drinking a bit of champagne and goofing around on the gaming systems while being a little tipsy was always fun, especially with the right people. Suki found herself sitting on the ground in front of where Amaretto sat on the couch as she battled Absinthe in their last battle of the game before the new year. "God damnit Absinthe! Stop fucking hitting me!" She laughed at herself since she had been cussing a bit more than usual and was out of her little box of shyness since she was with friends and on top of that tipsy. The following year seemed to look like it was going to be awesome.

Amaretto smiled as he watched the Suki and Absinthe battle each other on the game. He had tried earlier but he had only made it a few rounds before being beaten down by his little sister and once by Suki. First person shooters were more his thing. Or at least that was what he had been telling himself. He leaned back into the couch with a glass of champagne, something light to keep him from getting too wasted, cradled in his right hand and laughed when he heard Suki openly curse."Now you've pissed her off Absinthe. You better watch out. Take her down Suki." He laughed and watched as they went at it. Suki had been slowly opening up ore and more throughout the day with himself and Absinthe. And he had to admit that he was somewhat glad. He had to admit this New Year was much more thrilling. All that seemed to be missing was Blue. His eyes clouded as he gazed at the glass in his hand, thinking of what Absinthe had said earlier. Was she really that different? Would they be able to get along or would they fight like Absinthe had said they would? His thoughts jumbled together, the sounds of the video game and the girls yelling in the background were the only things keeping him from immersing himself completely to try and figure out what to do.

Absinthe laughed loudly as she heard her little innocent friend start cussing at her. Through out the day she had opened up more like she usually did when it was just the two of them. She was glad that she felt comfortable enough around Amaretto to be like this. "Hey now! It's not my fault you're always in my way!" She scowled when Amaretto cheered her on. She stuck her tongue out, but didn't turn to look at him. "Shutup asshole! Who's side are you on anyway? I'm your sister!" She laughed as she screamed out at him, obviously playing with him. She was sitting cross legged on the recliner and kept moving back and forth as she tried getting through obstacles on the game. "Or are you just upset that I beat you so many times at this game, hm?" She smiled and glanced over to him when she never heard a reply from him. He had gone into a little trance of his and she couldn't get him out until the round was over unless she wanted to loose. She hoped he was alright, he seemed to be thinking about a lot today.

Suki growled under her breath at Absinthe, only to blush and smile when Amaretto cheered her on. She giggled at how pissed Absinthe playfully got at her brother. She liked it here. It was fun. She loved her sister so much, but sometimes they needed a break from each other. She could always make a silly joke when they she saw her next anyway about not seeing each other since last year. She wanted to hang out with Fubuki as well, but she needed to give them their reuniting phase first. It was odd that Amaretto had appeared here around the same time. She thought that she should give them their phase too, but it seemed the liked what was going on. Siblings reuniting was a lot different than lovers.

When their round finally ended she giggled and shrugged, seeing that Absinthe, of course, beat her again. She didn't care if she won, though she was very competitive at the time during it. She just liked playing. She put her controller down and sighed, picking up her glass and drinking a bit as she turned to see Amaretto in a little daze. She tilted her head a bit. "You alright, darling?" She asked with a bit of an british accent from the champagne and the competitive video games.

Amaretto idly twirled the champagne in his glass, his eyes unknowingly following the liquid as it sloshed back and forth. Hearing the voice on the game announce the round over he snapped out of his little daze, hoping that neither of them had noticed, and put a smile on his face. When Suki turned to him and asked if he was alright though, he knew that they must have seen him daze off. He put his free hand to the back of his neck and laughed. He had been found out."Yeah I'm good. Just got a little lost in my own thoughts there for a second." He brought his hand back down to rest on his leg, smile still firmly in place, and looked toward Absinthe. "So who has next round."

Absinthe stared over at Amaretto, not buying his words. She let them slide though. Maybe he didn't want to say anything in front of Suki and he understood that. Or maybe it was even herself he didn't want to say anything in front of and she was okay with that too. She looked over at the clock on the wall and then looked to the tv so she could turn the game off and turn it to the station that had New Years things going on on it. "Well we'll have to wait and see until next year. Because it's just about midnight now." She smiled over at the both of them and got up to fill all of the glasses with champagne again so they could cheer when it became midnight. She always thought it was funny that the part of the world she has always lived in was the first to get midnight while everyone else was still stuck back in the year before. She thought it was fun to be the first ones to kick it off.

Suki turned her head quickly to look at the clock so she didn't have to pay attention to Amaretto's emotions. She didn't want to butt into them and make him tell them what was wrong, that would be rude of her and she hated being rude. She smiled to Absinthe when she gave her a bit more champagne, getting up so she could sit on the couch, sitting on her legs as she held onto her glass. "I can't believe it's already going to be the new year." She said as she usually does every year. It always shocked her that the year seemed to take forever, yet at the same time go by so fast. She didn't know where all the time went anymore. She was going to be 21 soon too. This time last year she was getting ready for the Coming of Age festival since she turned 20 just before the festival. This time last year she also was a total wreck. This was going to be different, she knew it.

Amaretto's eyes were firmly fixed on the TV, watching for the countdown from 10. He felt Suki slide up onto the couch next to him and a somewhat evil smirk crossed his face. Chancing a quick glance toward Absinthe the smirk grew into a smile. Let's have some fun with you little sis. Shall we? He quickly glanced toward Suki as well, trying to see how he was going to go about this. He leaned forward and set his glass down on the table, trying very hard to contain his smile. When he heard the count down begin he looked toward Suki and true smile showed on his face. 8...7...6...5....4....3. He took his hand and put it under Suki's chin, gently coaxing her fac to turn toward his. 2...1...Happy New Year. He closed his eyes and leaned forward planting a gentle kiss on Suki's lips.

Absinthe watched the tv as the count down came up soon. She couldn't help but stare at the screen, she was too excited with it and possibly had a bit too much champagne already. When it started to count down she shouted with it, watching the tv as she said each number until she got to one. She turned as she shouted the last number to her brother and Suki to find Amaretto about to kiss Suki. Her eyes went a bit wide and she slowly let out a soft 'Happy New Year', going a bit dumb founded by what she was watching go on in front of her. Maybe she really should have asked what they did last night, she obviously missed something. "Well... I'll just..." She didn't really know what to do, so she turned away and drank her champagne, narrowing her eyes a bit. I'm twenty years old and I still haven't even kissed a guy and my brother is over here flaunting how he's a girl magnet.

Suki bit her lip a bit when the count down began. She glanced at Amaretto when he put his glass down though, wondering why it wasn't in his hand so he could cheer to the girls when it hit midnight. It wasn't until she felt his hand under her chin that she figured out what he was doing. She didn't exactly have time to do anything about it though with her glass in her hands and him so close by now. Her eyes went wide as the fireworks started to off on the screen, hearing a few outside as well from the fair grounds far away. She was shocked that Amaretto actually ended up doing the silly little thing that people do on New Years and in front of his sister. She kissed back though, closing her eyes for the moment they kissed before she pulled away looked down a bit, her eyes looking up at him as she blushed and tried to cover it up with her glass.

Amaretto smiled at Suki as she pulled back and leaned forward to grab his glass again. Looking over at Absinthe he opened his mouth to tell her happy new year in return but he stopped when he noticed she was purposely faced the other way. Make one happy and the other pouts. Sounds familiar. Leaving his glass on the table he stood up and went over to the recliner Absinthe had claimed as hers. He leaned over and grabbed her head so he could plant a loud and wet kiss on her cheek. Then he nuzzled his head against hers and laughed. "Happy New Year to you too baby girl."

Absinthe finished off her glass quickly, staring at the wall. She knew she was being rude, but her bitterness was just getting to her lately she guessed. When she heard Amaretto get up she quickly looked at him, hoping he wasn't planning anything. She knew better though and started to move, but got caught by him before she could get up. She groaned and pushed at him as he kissed her cheek. "Ewwww! Amaretto you ass!" She laughed as she swatted at him, growling a bit. "I really didn't miss those kisses! I promise! I was good without a Happy New Years kiss from YOU thank you very much!" She looked up at him and glared a bit, but she knew he could see her smile behind it. "Sorry I'm such a bitch."

Suki watched as Amaretto got up to pick on his pouting sister. She felt bad for Absinthe. She knew that Absinthe hadn't had any kind of relationship before. She hated making her friends feel bad. She smiled though when she noticed Absinthe being playful back. She got up and sneaked herself into the kitchen to put her glass away. She didn't need any more drinks for tonight. When she came back out she came up to the chair that was empty across from the couch and leaned on it, staring over at the two siblings. "Maybe I should be getting back my crazy sibling and let you two be alone finally?" She asked, tilting her head a bit.

Amaretto smiled down at Absinthe and laughed as she told him she didn't need nor want a kiss from him. He gasped and clutched at the front of his shirt, acting as if he were in pain. "You don't like my new years kisses. You wound me love! I thought you loved my kisses!" He chuckled and nuzzled her head again when she apologized, humming deep in his throat to show her he understood and forgave her. "It's fine. I kinda deserved it for being an ass like that. I mean I should've came over here and gave you your kiss first. What was I thinking?" He kissed the top of her head and looked up when Suki came back into the room. When she mentioned something about leaving his brows furrowed and he looked toward Absinthe. "You don't have to leave if you don't want to. You can crash with this brat tonight so I don't get another rude wake up call and have to answer 20 thousand different questions. He laughed and moved away from the chair so if Absinthe chose to swing at him she couldn't get him.

Absinthe rolled her eyes at her brother's silly act, pushing him a bit. She raised an eyebrow at him and then shook his head, not bothering to comment on his remark to her. "I did not give you a billion questions! I asked you two, so shutup!" She growled, not bothering to get up so she could punch him in the arm. She leaned her head on her hand, her elbow on the arm of the chair. "You don't have to go unless you really want to, Suki. We don't mind you being here. Now if Blue shows up sometime, I know for sure you'll be going back home, but we don't mind you being here. You know I love you and obviously so does Amaretto." She shot him a look and stuck her tongue out, leaning back on the recliner so she could relax a bit.
