BIRTH-DATE: December 6th, 1988
HISTORY: Mio was born into a happy household in Ashton Town, England and being an only child she had her parents wrapped around her little fingers from day one. She was a quiet baby, rarely crying and usually never causing too much trouble for her parents. It was a simple and quiet life for the family of three. But two short years later her little sister Suki was born and her status of only child was torn away from her. She hadn't minded in the least though and she immediately took to Suki, loving her role as big sister. But being the big sister meant, to Mio, that she was never too far from Suki, they did everything together, and since Ashton Town had little to offer they often spent their time playing in their backyard.
Her life was fairly normal, nothing monumental happening in her early years. But when Mio was 12 her parents got into a disagreement over something that Mio can't recall and the dispute ended in divorce. Not long after the papers were filed her mother told her to pack her things, they were leaving for her friend's home in Germany. That night as she was packing all her things into bags and a few boxes Sukiyomi sat on the bare bed and watched, asking constantly where she was going and if she was going with her. Mio avoided answering, not really knowing what to say.
The next morning Mio and her mother left, and her mother never told her that they would not be returning. They went to Munich, Germany and stayed with her mother's friend where she was treated terribly on a daily basis. The hellish woman was constantly putting Mio down and making sure she had little to no faith in herself. There was no escape from the hell that her life had become. Her mother was her only ray of hope throughout all of this, but even that ray of hope started to fade. Mio yearned to talk to her little sister, she needed reassurance that Suki was okay, that everything was working out for the little pup. So, every chance she got, Mio would ask her mother if she could call Suki. Her mother always denied her quickly and went on to doing other things. She eventually gave up asking, knowing that the answer would never change. By the time Mio was 16 she had become completely unresponsive to the world around her. Her face was blank, she rarely smiled and she mouthed back at her mother and her mother's friend any chance she got. She had lost her little sister, the only one she had honestly cared for so she didn't think it was worth the effort anymore.
When she was traveling through the city on a grocery trip one day, not long after her 16th birthday, a stranger stopped her with a hand on the shoulder and handed her an envelope, saying "We've been watching you, we want you with us." before walking away. Her curiosity getting the better of her she had opened it in the street after the stranger had walked off. It had been a recruitment paper for something called The Organization. At the time she didn't know what it was, so she followed the directions to the recruitment center and willingly signed up. Anything to get away from the woman who had taken her life away from her. She didn't bother to finish her shopping, she went straight home and packed a duffle bag full of clothes and tolitries, taking off before her mother could ask her where she was going, let alone stop her. She took a bus to the airport where the other recruits were to meet up and they all took a plane to Armavir, Russia and her training as a front line soldier began.
For her first year in the Organization she trained in basic combat and field observation skills, not yet being experienced enough to train as an infiltrator. She received her skin and bone weaves three weeks into her training, the teachers said that they would help the soldier but some soldiers that had walked into the operating room had never came back out. She was fitted and sized for her bone weaves and the injection of the skin weaves started. When the doctors had gone to set her spinal and rib cage bone weave she had been awake, though she could feel little, the thick weave had broken two of her ribs and one had punctured a lung. She remembered choking on her own blood before blacking out and waking up what seemed moments later but had apparently been six days. She was put on re cooperation and a week later she continued with basic.
The few mundane missions she went on were completed quickly and efficiently, her randomized team of three pulling them off without a hitch. She made few friends due to her hostile behavior towards others and the fact that the Organization's strict rules and schedules allowed for little to no free time. She worked day and night on her fighting skills and would train with others but her friendships went no further than that. When Mio was 17 the advisory board assigned her to Fubuki Oono's stealth unit after she had displayed her ability to work her way around a field without being seen, she was to be an infiltrator and work as a front line soldier only when they needed her the most. She hadn't liked the idea at first, she didn't really want to sneak around, but she came around eventually when Fubuki started showing her the advantages of working in the shadows.
Mio started crushing on Fubuki when she was 18, two short years and countless scars into her military career. The Organization was so strict about their rules of fraternization that she worried if she acted on her feelings they would both be punished for it, so she decided to stay quiet for the time being. But when he was teaching her about throwing knives one day and standing so close to her she had to take the opportunity, she had spun around and kissed him, making the knife that he had been demonstrating with clatter noisily to the floor.
From that moment on their relationship slowly blossomed. They began spending more and more time with each other, and the more time they spent dodging the ever curious eyes of the advisers, the more they realized just how corrupt the Organization was. Their relationship wasn't perfect, far from it in fact. It was hard to maintain a stable relationship within the suffocating walls of the Organization. And on more than one occasion their patience was tried and their anger tested by the people around them, especially the higher ups. One of those instances though Fubuki's anger was pushed to it's limit and he finally broke, this was the week before Mio was to be transferred to the Japanese branch of the Organization based in Miyagi Prefecture.
With the way that their relationship was going, they had been intimate for roughly six months when Fubuki had his fit of rage, and two months before she was to be transferred she found out that she was pregnant. She had planned on telling Fubuki right away but the advisers had shoved her off onto her final mission for HQ, which was to last a month and a half and take place in Lebanon. The mission was wholly uneventful, for the group she was working with knew their way around the area well. Toward the end of the mission though, when she was scouting by herself, she worked herself up over the small details of a recon mission that was to take place the next day and she ended up having a miscarriage. It hit her hard but she kept it quiet, knowing the repercussions of pregnancy withing the Organization would destroy her and Fubuki.
When they returned to HQ she was put in the medical bay and checked over for internal injuries due to the bleeding, she hadn't the strength to argue them so she let them believe what they wanted and withdrew into herself. When they released her she made her way to Fubuki's classroom and told him what had happened, he hadn't taken it well but he didn't react as badly as she thought he would, he was more worried for her than he was angry at the fact she didn't tell him. But later that week when the advisers told him of his class's transfer to Miyagi he lost it, it seemed that he had reached the end of his patience with them. He had locked his door and kept everyone from entering, everyone but her. He had allowed her in and secured the lock again once she was in and he ranted to her about everything that had been going on. In what she assumed an attempt to vent his anger he had grabbed one of his dull practice knives and went to throw it at the target behind her but ended up hitting her side instead, leaving a nasty gash behind. She had used the first aid kit in the room to patch it up quickly and worked on calming him down.
The next day she left for Miyagi, leaving the person that had mattered the most to behind. Again. Upon arriving in Miyagi she unpacked all of her things in her new bunkhouse and went out to eat with some fellow soldiers. While at the restaurant she saw someone who reminded her of her little pup and on a whim she went to talk to her, and to her surprise it was her pup. They spoke for a while and Suki invited Mio to move in with her, and knowing that she would be stuck in her memories at the bunkhouse, she agreed.
Three years after being with Suki and slowly getting over her depression of losing her child Mio decided that she had had enough of the Organization's control of her life so she decided to disappear off of their radars for good. She stopped reporting in and responding to mission calls, and eventually severed her ties completely. She had to dodge the agents they sent out to find her every now and then but it was definitely worth the freedom. Not long after she left she bought out the old Kaiseki Ryori and renovated it, with the funds she had been paid while working as a front line soldier, to try and blend into the normal everyday life that she had seemed to have forgotten over the years.
Now she lives happily with Suki in an a top floor apartment. And recently Fubuki found her at said apartment, apparently using the note that she had written in traditional Korean and left on his desk before she left, and though he brought back harsh memories she couldn't deny her happiness at seeing him again. She just hopes that the happiness will be everlasting this time around.
